Advancing the science of
cardiology and imaging
Dr Wamil trained initially as a basic scientist and completed a British Heart Foundation MSc–PhD fellowship in Cardiovascular Science at the University of Edinburgh, before undertaking postdoctoral work at the University of Oxford focused on advanced imaging approaches to characterise cardiometabolic phenotypes. She has further strengthened her methodological expertise through an ESC-funded MSc in Clinical Trials at Oxford, reflecting her interest in trial design with imaging endpoints and the use of AI-enabled approaches to support robust evaluation of emerging therapies.

Dr Malgorzata Wamil, MD, PhD, MSc, FRCP, FESC, is a Consultant Cardiologist and Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, with expertise in multimodality cardiovascular imaging and heart failure/cardiomyopathies. She completed her specialist cardiology training at Oxford University Hospitals and, as an NHS consultant, has developed a clinical practice focused on integrating advanced cardiac imaging (cardiac CT, CMR and echo) to refine diagnosis, guide management, and support shared decision-making in complex cardiovascular disease.
