A little preparation helps you get the most from your consultation with Dr Wamil. Here's a simple step-by-step guide to what to do before, what to bring, and what to expect on the day.
Bring any referral letter from your GP or another specialist, plus a list of your current and past medical conditions and surgeries.
Write down all medications and supplements you take, including doses and how often. If easier, bring the medications in their original packaging.
If you have prior ECGs, echocardiograms, blood tests, or scans (even from other hospitals), bring copies or images — they can save time and avoid repeat tests.
Jot down when your symptoms started, what brings them on, and anything that relieves them. Write your questions so you don't forget to ask them.
Arrive 15 minutes early to allow for check-in. A comprehensive cardiac assessment with Dr Wamil typically takes around 60 minutes.
Your visit usually includes a detailed history, a physical examination, an ECG, and often an echocardiogram. Further tests may be arranged afterwards if needed.
If symptoms worsen before your appointment: do not wait for your visit — call 999 for emergencies (chest pain, breathlessness, fainting) or 111 for urgent advice.
